A new job search site for young people interested in working in Finance
They needed us to validate their assumptions and gauge the appeal of their site among their target audience.
The challenge
They felt they lacked the uniqueness that Gen Z might expect from a product.
Job boards seem very alike and that was their issue too. but they had a different mission in mind, to support.
So we needed to figure out how to transmit their vision.

1. Objectives
Creating a user experience that truly connects with Gen Z.
Identifying and addressing immediate usability issues.
Exploring long-term strategies for unique selling propositions and customer satisfaction.
2. Methodology
Starting with a screener to identify the right audience, we followed with a quantitative survey to gauge broad perceptions and behaviours. Diving deeper, our one-on-one interviews allowed us to get richer data.
3. Impact
Beyond surface-level fixes, we provided a comprehensive guide on enhancing functionality, refining brand messaging, and elevating design to meet Gen Z's high standards. By digging into the unspoken and nuanced insights we identified that Gen Z's dissatisfaction with job boards was mainly due to widespread disrespect and a lack of transparency in the application process. Through a social science lens, we created a coherent way forward for Pocketsquare that transmitted their vision in a language and mental models that were close to Gen Z.
